When Kathy was in pre-op, her surgeon, Dr Campbell, came in with a marker to draw a line for the incision. I teased him that, I had heard he was an artist and hoped he wouldn't imitate Dali or Picasso. He said he would rather be a "carpenter". At first I thought he meant Steve Carpenter the abstract artist. He drew his line, muttered something about carpenters making a good living and disappeared back into the OR. That got me thinking. A carpenter doing surgery?
